Our Community Fighting for our Families

·  Improving our families safety and the quality of life within our community by preventing and reducing substance abuse are the goals of the Coalition.

·  The Coalition partners with schools and businesses within Meridian to educate the community on the lethal and harmful effects of drug abuse.

Drug abuse in our community affects everyone. Rising medical costs, crime and broken families are just a few of the issues that stem from drug abuse. Nationally Meth lab seizures have gone up 577%.

Children between the ages of 12 and 17 are most likely to experiment with drugs. Based on teens surveyed marijuana use in Idaho (per capita) exceeds that of California, Washington and Florida.

Each American pays on average $277 per year in state taxes to deal with substance abuse, where only $10 goes to prevention/treatment. This cost Meridian $15,542,193 last year.
