A new art show titled “Purple Plus” will open on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 in the Initial Point Gallery with an Artist Reception from 4:30-7:00 p.m and will remain on display through Friday, January 30.
The new exhibit will display diverse artworks by local artists from the Treasure Valley Artists’ Alliance (TVAA). “In the exhibition Purple Plus, 2D and 3D artists from TVAA will explore the color purple in all its meanings and shades,” says TVAA curator Claire Remsberg. “Purple invokes royalty, rarity, magic and mystery. The “plus” is an invitation to include various shades and permutations of purple; such as violet, indigo, lavender, even magenta. Flowers, landscapes, backgrounds, animals and plumage of various kinds come in purple.”
In addition to the Opening Reception, the gallery will host an event titled “Artist Panel Discussion: Archival to Alternative Art Media” on Tuesday, January 6 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Initial Point Gallery. TVAA President Leslie Jay Bosch says the panel discussion “will be focused on artists' materials across the spectrum from archival to alternative. All are welcome to attend to learn and find out more about TVAA as an arts organization.”
