Do The Right

#DoTheRight Day is Thursday, April 4, 2024

Kindness is contagious. That’s why the City of Meridian, with the help of many partners, observes DO THE RIGHT every April. The goal of the day is to encourage people of all ages to do something nice for the person to their right—whether it’s helping a neighbor drag their garbage can to the curb, handing a note of appreciation to a classmate, or buying coffee for a coworker. By taking the time to perform acts of service and kindness, we ensure that our community remains friendly, vibrant, and welcoming to all.

Spread the Word

Help us promote kindness by making sure everyone—friends, family members, neighbors, classmates, coworkers—knows about DO THE RIGHT. Here’s how you can help everyone discover our movement of compassion:

Monday, April 1 - Thursday, April 4 | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Meridian City Hall, Ground Floor Lobby

On Do The Right Day (April 4, 2024), the front lobby of Meridian City Hall (33 E Broadway Ave, Meridian, ID 83642) » will feature an Appreciation Station stocked with cards, candy, and writing instruments. Visitors may stop by the Appreciation Station during regular business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) to assemble a gratitude gift that can then be given to someone as a token of appreciation.

If your business, faith group, or organization would like to set up an Appreciation Station in your own building, please reach out to dotheright@meridiancity.org! All you need to provide is a table and some space. We will supply you with a sign and some branded cards so that your visitors can decorate and sign their own gratitude gifts. Some groups choose to also provide grab bags / swag with their own group's branded content as an extra goodie for the gifts.

To celebrate our campaign of kindness, the West Ada Community Collaborative, JustServe, and the City of Meridian have teamed up to host a Do the Right Fair Community Event on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 5:30-7:30 PM, at Meridian Middle School (1507 8th St NW, Meridian, ID 83642 »).
