In 2005 the Meridian Fire Department took the quality emergency medical care it had been providing their citizens to an even higher level, with the addition of a Licensed Paramedic on every engine company. This improvement brought advanced life support capability right to the patient’s side in a pre-hospital setting

High quality emergency medical care is not defined solely in terms of life saving interventions for critically ill or injured patients. However, quality emergency medical care is defined by the decisions made on each and every patient encounter, and the compassion with which we treat our patients and their family and friends.

EMS providers are challenged with making important, sometimes critical decisions with a limited amount of information. Meridian Fire department personnel remain at the forefront of pre-hospital medicine through a process of continuing education and medical oversight. We work with other EMS agencies in the Treasure Valley to provide the best possible care and transportation to an appropriate medical facility.
