In Ada County, the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is responsible for designing, constructing and maintaining the roadway system; the City does not have a roadway department. The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) builds and maintains the State highways in Meridian: Interstate 84, Eagle Road/SH-55, Chinden Boulevard/US 20-26, and Meridian Road/SH-69 are all ITD facilities. Valley Regional Transit (VRT), provides bus service.
