August 14 -- Monthly meeting of Mayor's Faith Ambassador Council at 4:00 pm at Meridian Police Department

September 2008

September 10 -- My name is Michael Matson and I am the Director of Christian Education for Christ Lutheran Church here in Meridian. I'd like to invite everyone to a FREE event that our church will be hosting on Wednesday evening, September 10^th at 7 PM. We will be hosting an Internet Safety Class for students in grades 6-10 and their parents. We feel it is crucial to bring both the parents and the youth together for this event because there are safety issues concerning both groups. The Meridian Police Department will be coming to do the presentation to the youth and parents and there will be lots of handouts and brochures available for additional safety information. September 11 -- Monthly meeting of Mayor's Faith Ambassador Council at 4:00 pm at Meridian Police Department

September 20 & 21 -- Member churches of the Meridian Ministerial Fellowship are invited to participate in Unity Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, September 20 & 21. Participating churches will show the Unity DVD produced by Mission Media, and either preach on the unity of the body of Christ or at least give emphasis to this concept/doctrine by way of scripture reading, exhortation, testimony, and/or prayer during their weekend worship services. Churches who wish to participate should contact Roger Zanders at Mission Media 322-9090 for more information and to schedule time to shoot a brief videotaped greeting to be played along with others for other church congregations during Unity Weekend.

September 21 -- Everyone's invited to the 2008 Ten Mile Christian Community Fall Fair. The fun goes from 2:30 - 7:00 pm at 820 S. Black Cat Road in Meridian. Admission is free! Enjoy great food, tractor pull event, horse rides, wagon rides, Model T Club car displays, and lots of family and youth games and activities!

Meridian's Community Thanksgiving Celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, November 26 (the evening before Thanksgiving Day). The Meridian Ministerial Fellowship plans and implements this annual event. In honor of Mother's Day each year, Heritage Auto Repair's staff offers a day of free car inspections and lube-oil-filter services to single mothers in our community.
