Parks and Recreation - Future Parks/Projects

The following is a list of all parks that are currently in the design or construction phase that will be maintained by Meridian Parks and Recreation.

Settlers Park, 3401 N. Meridian Road.
Driving Directions
(under construction)
Settlers Park has seen many changes in recent years.  A partnership with Meridian Youth Baseball has produced the Leighton Family Baseball Complex, an eight field development for youth baseball and softball on the west side of the park.  Also, the second and third phase of Adventure Island Playground, a water splash pad, interactive sound garden and climbing boulders are complete giving Meridian residents a great place to cool off and play during those hot summer days.  There is still more work to be done though.  Construction will begin in 2008 on the undeveloped sections of the park on the corner of Ustick Rd. and Meridian Rd. and on the west side of the water tower.  That construction project will yeild eight tennis courts, sixteen horseshoe courts, and a beautiful community plaza.  Settlers Park and all its amenities will be a popular place for years to come.

Kiwanis Park, 2400 E. Three Bars Drive.
Driving Directions
(under construction)
Kiwanis Park will be a 9 acre, neighborhood park with a picnic shelter, restrooms, playground, walking paths, and a fishing pond.
Construction on Kiwanis Park is nearing completion and the grand opening is scheduled to occur in the fall of 2008 or spring of 2009.

Willam Watson Park
This park will be 7.5 acres located in the Bainbridge subdivision on the west side of Ten Mile Road between McMillian and Chinden.  It is currently in the design phase and no schedule has been set for construction.
