Each year, the City of Meridian awards up to four $1,000 scholarships to Meridian residents who will graduate from high school in the spring and begin attending an accredited college or vocational education program in the fall. These scholarships are funded by the sponsors of the Mayor's State of the City address.
To be eligible in 2015, an applicant must reside in the City of Meridian or its area of impact, or have been a member of the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council since January 2014.
Applicants must be graduating in the spring of 2015, and plan on attending an accredited college or vocational education program beginning in the fall of 2015.
The scholarship is awarded to successful applicants who demonstrate evidence of leadership potential through their community involvement, as well as volunteerism, school activities, or work experience.
A copy of the application form will be put up in early 2015 and if you have questions, please contact Robert Simison in the Meridian Mayor's Office at 888-4433.
