Let's Talk Traffic!

Meridian has traffic on its mind! Everyone is interested in traffic and what’s being done to ease navigation and relieve congestion.

In response to growing concerns, Meridian is committed to working with other local transportation and planning agencies to keep you apprised on upcoming road improvement projects and provide you with strategies for navigating Meridian more successfully.

This website is intended to provide Meridian residents with an overview of the transportation planning process, as well as an update of what projects are currently underway in and around town. The Area Plans & Project Specific Studies section includes information about various transportation and related land use plans in which local agencies are currently engaged. It also provides information about corridor specific studies that transportation agencies are currently working on. The Future Projects page gives an overview of the transportation planning process, and shows users how roadway projects move from concept to construction. The Current Road Work page tells users what projects are currently under construction so that residents and visitors can plan their trips accordingly.

There is a wealth of transportation-related information throughout this site. If you have any additional questions please contact Shelly Houston, Community Communications Coordinator for the City of Meridian, at 888-4433; .

UPDATE:

On August 22, 2007 the Board of Ada County Highway District Commissioners approved the District’s FY2008-FY2009 budget, including funding proposed for capital roadway projects. Due to cost escalations and inadequate funding, and in order to balance the budget, certain roadway projects that were previously programmed for construction in 2008 were delayed until 2009 – which is a departure from the adopted Five Year Work Plan.

Projects in Meridian that were scheduled to begin construction in 2008 but were delayed until 2009 with the adoption of ACHD’s budget are:

  • Eagle Road, Victory to Ridenbaugh – including intersection improvements at Eagle/Easy Jet and Eagle/Victory.
  • Ten Mile Road, Franklin to Cherry – including intersection improvements at Ten Mile/Franklin and Ten Mile/Pine.
  • Ustick and Linder Intersection.

ACHD will begin the annual update of the Five Year Work Plan in the fall of 2007.To provide input on these changes, and other programmed projects, please contact the Board of Ada County Commissioners: (http://www.achd.ada.id.us/Departments/Commission/FindCommissioner.aspx).
