- Frequency: read monthly
- Technique: All meters are read electronically.
- Touch Read: Most meters are read by touching a wand to the touch pad mounted in the lid. This process takes less than five seconds and may read more than one meter in the same meter pit (reference photo). This significantly increases the quantity of meters that may be read by one person in a work day.
- Radio Read: We are currently launching into a limited radio read pilot program. A small radio transmitter will be mounted inside some meter pits and will allow the meters to be read from a moving vehicle at a rate significantly greater than the touch read program.
